WE MAKE SERIOUS PONTIAC HORSEPOWER
AND WE KNOW MORE ABOUT BUILDING STOCK PONTIAC ENGINES THAN ANYONE.
Buuuuuull Pucky.
Time has come - I can't stand the heavily promoted totally unfounded numbers of unreal hp claimed
by certain Pontinac engine sellers. Noticed I didn't say builders - and for a good reason.
As I always like to reference when someone makes an unreal claim - "Let's Compare."
Then it's up toYOU to take these people to task. Don't simply believe what they say is true -
ask for the RESULTS of their claims. Compare: An NHRA Pro-Stock car is limited to
500 cubic inches and two carburetors on gasoline. No nitrous. No boost in any form.
That means no blowers, no turbo's, no centrifugal superchargers. It must weigh 2350 pounds after each run,
and you better believe NHRA weighs each car after each run. (Just like my Super Stocker must weigh in also.)
These cars are running in the 6.60 range on a good day and average 6.70's just about anywhere else except Denver
where there is less natural atmospheric pressure. Their speed is around 205 to 207 mph.
How much power are they making? Oh, about
1300 hp.
So the next time you see someone making these outrageous, uncontested claims - ask them why their tube chassis - all fiberglass - NOT street legal in any state I know of - claiming almost 3000 hp engine isn't running in the five second zone at 230+ mph. Wear your boots. There's deep doo doo coming your way.
